A taste of February

Well, there are times of drought in cute new things that Nathan's doing (that's when you don't see a post for weeks at a time), and there are times of plenty. Now that he's trying to do everything Jimmy and I do, it's certainly a time of plenty. :) Here are a few pictures of the things he's been doing lately.

I bought Nathan a potty because he's been announcing when he has a dirty diaper so I figured it can't hurt to have it around. It doubles as a stool so now we can actually wash his hands easily!

Nathan likes to help us cook. When Jimmy got out the eggs, Nathan announced "EGGS! EGGS!" and went into the cooking utensil drawer and got out the exact spatula that we usually use for scrambling eggs.

On another day we didn't quite have the time to let Nathan "cook" with us so I thought he'd like to "cook" some water with blue food coloring in it. He definitely enjoyed it.
And since he got some blue water on the floor, mommy showed him how to clean it up and he did a great job!
Feeding Elmo (because he does everything to Elmo and all the rest of his stuffed animals that we do to him, like feed them, give them the paci, put their shoes on, give them milk and juice, let them drive his firetruck...you get the picture!).
Advanced reader. :) Nathan likes to bring us books to have us read to him and yesterday he chose the first two books in the Lord of the Ring trilogy. He didn't read them for long, though.
Maybe Elmo needs to poopy, too?
On Saturday (the 9th) we went to Venice Beach. My friend Jenni, from William and Mary, was in town with a couple of her friends so we spent the morning at the beach with her. We'd never been to Venice before. It was definitely good to go once, but we don't feel the need to go again. There is some weird stuff there (and weird people). I didn't realize I looked so pregnant.
Waiting for a wave...

...and jumping over it because the water was COLD even though it was 76 outside!
Nathan had a fun time chasing the pigeons!
P.S. In case you didn't already know, you can click on each picture for an enlarged version.
